Description
Tweedy
Tweedy is a tweed yarn where the coloured bits are Hedgehog Fibres’ own hand-dyed waste – the ties taken off the hand dyed skeins. They save them very diligently as a labor of love. Hedghehog has been collecting the ties for a while and finally found a mill that could process these, which means re-carding them, blending and spinning into yarn again.
The result a batch of this lovely grey-ish tweed yarn with colourful speckles. We love how neutral it is with a colorful bit here and there. It comes in one colorway only and we think it’s just calling for sweaters and cardigans.
Hedgehog Fibres is always looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly and to minimize waste. On top of the thread waste they are using recycled wool, making 50% of the total content recycled. Tweedy is soft, yet wooly and not superwash. It blooms beautifully after washing.
Hand wash cool, lay flat to dry.
