These Norwegian style, stranded colorwork mittens are made with Fancy Tiger Crafts’ Heirloom Romney, a US raised, milled & dyed yarn from a unique heritage long-wool breed. Lustrous and hardworking, this wool makes great mittens that will hold up to years & years of wear, while always looking as good as the day they came off your needles. The pattern includes clear charts and instructions.
Yarn Requirements:
Fancy Tiger Crafts’ Heirloom Romney Yarn 200yds/4oz, 1 skein each of Natural (MC) and Hyssop (CC) (or two colors of a hearty worsted or aran weight wool)
Needles & Such:
Size US 6 (4.0mm) DPNs
Size US 7 (4.5mm) DPNs
smaller size DPN or circular to pick up cast on row
2 stitch markers
Tapestry needle
Gauge: 24 sts & 28 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch on smaller needles
