Germantown
An icon of American craft, Germantown was developed in Philadelphia in the early 1800s. The name Germantown is synonymous with a good quality worsted yarn. This yarn is made in the US using 100% US grown wool.
Kelbourne Woolens Germantown is a Territory wool. Territorial wool (or range wool) is a bit of an archaic name for wool that comes from the former US Territories, broadly anything west of the Missouri River, but in the case of Germantown, mostly from Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. The most prevalent breeds are Rambouillet, Targhee, Columbia, and Polypay.
Suggested gauge is 16 – 20 sts to 4” on US 6 – 9 needles.
Hand wash cold, lay flat to dry.
