Anise Myrtle (Syzygium anisatum) is a native Australian plant that grows in the rainforests of Bellingen and Nambucca river valleys in north-eastern NSW. If you’re a lover of black jelly beans, the sweet liquorice flavour of anise myrtle is for you.
Uses: Try adding to deserts, sweet sauces, preserves or drinks. Traditionally Indigenous people used it medicinally as a tonic which had a vitalising effect.
